“With my Mother as my inspiration, my husband Sheldon and I founded Traycee Home Care in 1974. Our passion in helping families stems from our own experiences in caring for my Mom who was no longer able to manage on her on. We faced the overwhelming challenge of finding someone we could trust and ensure the very best care. We were committed to create a home care agency grounded in family values with caregivers who provided a sense of purpose in daily life.”

Some people have an instinct to care for others. You’ve met them. They focus on you, they listen to you, they empathize with you, and help you. This is Barbara Traycee, wife, mother, grandmother, and co-founder of Traycee Home Care Services.
Barbara connects instantly with others because she is a genuinely compassionate person. It was not surprising when, as a young mother, she was able to locate skilled, trustworthy child and eldercare and in turn found her friends asking her to do the same for them. They were so pleased at Barbara’s ability to find the right care for their family that she was more than ready when her husband said, “Why not make this our business?”
Barbara Traycee was born in Milwaukee and grew up in Chicago. She graduated from the Cook County Graduate School of Medicine as a medical lab technician. Barbara’s late husband, Sheldon was a licensed Pharmacist from the University of Illinois. Their combined talents and passions set the foundation for their pioneering family-centered philosophy and care. For nearly fifty years Traycee Home Care Services has provided care to 20,000 individuals and families on the Northshore and Chicagoland area.

Our caregivers find joy in helping others. They consider and treat every client as if they were their own family members. We recognize that providing personal care is a great responsibility. We go beyond background checks and look to select caregivers who share our values and high regard for family with a demonstrated track record of success. We embrace our caregivers as part of our Traycee Home Care family and help them continue to develop their skills through specialized training and education.
We nurture relationships.
Our process of care includes quality checks. Our Nurse Care Coordinators routinely communicate with caregivers and the family to ensure high satisfaction. Nurse Care Coordinators also coach caregivers throughout their involvement with a family. All caregivers receive training recognized by the Illinois Department of Public Health and National Private Duty Care Association as well as individual training based on client and family needs. We take pride in developing skills and providing expertise based on the unique needs of your loved one.
